Haru comes from a world of carnivores and herbivores tenuously coexisting. Meat eating is illegal and incredibly taboo, however predation incidents and back alley market selling and trading of meat does happen. As such, predation (vore) and death does come up often, especially with Haru.

Suicidal ideation / self-harm may come up with Haru as well. Although she doesn't actively seek death out, she does "accept her fate" as a prey animal and may put herself in scenarios that seem self-harm at best, suicidal at worst. Derealization / Depersonalization also fall into this.

Sex is also very prominent in Haru's life and the way she used to navigate the world.

Sexual Assault is also alluded to in relation to attempted predation.
Haru is also an adult, but because she's a rabbit many people see her as small/cute and infantilize her (much to her chagrin). The mangaka says she can come across as a Japanese Lolita because she's cute, childlike and girly, and people do insult Legoshi by calling him a "lolicon" due to his attraction to her. I will never play this out in sexual settings. Haru can honestly be seen as a deconstruction of moé convention.

Legoshi (grey wolf) - boyfriend / lover / romance interest / idfk they make it complicated. Fact of the matter is, Legoshi and Haru initially meet twice, and both under very uncomfortable circumstances. The first time when he acted on a predatory instinct and attacked and nearly ate her, and the second time when he visited the Gardening Club and Haru took off her clothes because she assumed he wanted to sleep with her. Their dynamic is made up of struggling between their extreme differences, their mutual affection and love for one another, and attempting to meet somewhere in the middle in a complicated world made more complicated by the fact that the two of them are complex people themselves.

Louis (red deer) - ex-lover / friend. Louis and Haru first met when he used the Gardening Club as a refuge when his antlers dropped prematurely, and they grew close when he stayed there until he could get prosthetic antlers so he could look like his normal, respectable self. Though they weren't exclusive, Haru was in love with Louis and cared deeply about him because she saw him for the lonely deer that he was, and even when she fell out of love with him she still cared deeply and worried about him when he disappeared from school and ignored her calls.

Juno (grey wolf) - female acquaintance (turned friendly) / former "love rival". The relationship Haru had with Juno was kind of forced upon her, because of Juno's one-sided crush on Legoshi. At first, it's mostly Juno being jealous of Haru and trying to "best" her by winning Legoshi over, and there is a point where Juno does get to her, treating Haru's kidnapping and rescue as just evidence of all the good a predator can do instead of the reality that it was done out of genuine care & concern for her. But later on, after a few months, the two of them are able to bond in some way. Juno helping Haru out with gardening, while Haru commenting on how it was nice to have a girl around to talk to.

Unnamed Father, Mother, Older Brother, Older Sister (all white dwarf rabbits) - has a good relationship with all of them. While her father is shown being a classic salaryman who worries about his youngest daughter, so much so that he wants her to go to an all-herbivore school, and her mother is the one who instilled the fragility and weakness of a dwarf rabbit onto Haru at a very young age by warning her about how dangerous it is to be a small prey animal, Haru's dynamic with them and her siblings is normal and friendly. They seem unaware of her past reputation at Cherryton.

So, at first blush, Haru is someone who is a relatively friendly girl who seeks to live her life to the fullest & remain true to herself. Growing up in a world where society is made up of all kinds of animals, big & small, predator & prey, and a modern world which seeks to hide the uncomfortable truths of the world away from the public eye, Haru found herself feeling overwhelmed, disconnected from those around her, and constantly belittled. All though elementary school and middle school, she felt belittled and pitied by animals much larger than her, and the smiles they wore around her were never genuine but just an expression of sympathy. So, when a male classmate of hers in middle school confessed that he had romantic feelings for her which developed into a sexual relationship, it was the first time Haru felt truly of this world because she was treated like an equal. Because this sexual experience was such a positive experience for her at a time when she felt lost, she began being more open to having relationships with all sorts of male animals by her own choosing, because at that time in her life it was the one way she felt truly alive and seen as a woman and not just a small, cute rabbit to be babied and pitied. Even though it lead her to being bullied and isolated from many female students in her school year, it in term established Haru as someone who lived independently and freely. Eschewing the expectations from society to remain true to how she feels in the moment, and in turn, is someone who walks to her own beat in a world where many are expected to fall in line.

Despite facing down actual death this time, Haru drew on the strength she had to at the very least, not go down without a fight. She knew that while her fate was ultimately sealed, she refused to make the meal a pleasant and easy experience for the leader by finding confidence within herself and promising to be a very unsatisfying meal. 

So, despite being someone who says she accepts the reality of what life can be like for a small female prey animal, she ultimately does not live her life defined by her expected role.

She's bullied endlessly by a fellow female rabbit named Mizuchi due to the harlequin rabbit's boyfriend cheating on her with Haru, ostracized by others due to the vicious rumours that are spread by Mizuchi and other female classmates put off by her personality and lifestyle, and when male students set up certain expectations of Haru that she doesn't fulfill because she's a layered and complex girl, Haru often finds herself alone. Some of this loneliness is beyond her control, while other times it is a choice she makes. She initially tries to distance herself from Legoshi because she observes and sees wolves and other large carnivores as beautiful and special, and she built her entire life around the belief and understanding that she's one white rabbit out of thousands. It's difficult for Haru to understand why someone like Legoshi would go to great lengths to be with her when life would be easier if he just didn't or if she just broke up with him, and because this throws her tendency to act reckless and careless through a loop, she at times finds herself extremely confused and brooding.

And although Haru is someone who is friendly and relatively non-judgemental, she is also characterized as someone who is blunt, temperamental, and impulsive. Again, a lot of this has to do with how she's chosen to live life, and in tandem to her independence and living life in the moment, she has a bad habit of coming across as blunt and a little rude. She's observational to a fault; because of her personal frustrations with her own relationships, she calls out one of her college friends (a fellow female  rabbit) for dating a carnivore (a male lion) and treating the relationship carelessly, pointing out that it's obvious the girl is dating this guy for looks. This frustration stems from her holding a sort of grudge against Legoshi, one that he's completely unaware about because she never outright approached or talked to him about it. After making an attempt to visit him after he dropped out of Cherryton, she winds up observing him entering his apartment complex with another small female herbivore, and angrily assumes he's moved on from her and is seeing someone else (that's not the case, as she later finds out, because it's just his neighbor). 

Basically, Haru's approach to life manifests two-fold: on one hand, she's strong, independent, and is flexible enough to try and find a middle ground with people because she holds feeling equal and respected with the utmost importance. On the otherhand, in this pursuit she can and will make many missteps along the way, approaching certain scenarios with an impulse and not always able to explain her thoughts and feelings to others because she feels so strongly about being independent that she keeps a lot of her issues bottled up inside.

TL;DR: she's a complicated rabbit, just trying to live her best life. She could probably use a good therapist.
